Visit https://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Разговор_с_корисником:Kizule#Kizule_%28test%29
Try to reply to a comment from user Садко

What happens?:

Could not find the comment you're replying to on the page. It might have been deleted or moved to another page.
Please reload the page and try again.

What should have happened instead?:
DiscussionTools should work and allow me to respond, without any error, and without having me to use the source editor only to respond to his messages.

Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

This is happening in Serbian WIkipedia, I'm unsure if there is already a task about this. If it is so, feel free to close this task as a duplicate.

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

Windows 11
Google Chrome 119.0.6045.160

But this is happening in each browser, not only Google Chrome.

I'm afraid I cannot reproduce in Firefox 120: I click Одговори on the last comment and no problem.
What does "Try to reply to a comment from user Садко" mean? At which stage does it fail? Is the error shown before clicking the blue Reply button or after?
Can you please try in safemode? Thanks!

Are you trying to respond to my comment or his? Error is happening right after I click "Reply" (which is "Одговори" in Serbian language). And only for his comments, not mine or someone else's.

Eh, sorry! I did it wrong, indeed.
In Firefox and Chromium on https://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Разговор_с_корисником:Kizule?debug=true&uselang=en#Kizule_(test) I get

Please reload the page and try again.

I wonder if the language-variants are confusing it somewhere. Садко vs Sadko in what it's looking for when trying to find the comment, etc.

I'm using Serbian Cyrillic (sr is fallback to sr-ec), but it happens with Serbian Latin (sr-el) as well. I don't think that language variant matters in this case.
