Access to DMARCIAN
Open, MediumPublic

Description

Hi all. I am the Senior Manager of Global Campaigns with responsibility for the Wikimedia Foundation email sends. I at one point was sent an invitation from DMARCIAN to gain access to the account but that invitation is no longer working. I would like to regain access to DMARCIAN and also give access to bsisolak@messagedigital.com. We are trying to ensure that we maintain the deliverability of our Wikimedia emails and prevent spammers from using our domains.

Please contact me with any questions.

Looks like dmarcian has been replaced by dmarcdigests.com. (details in T330944). Adding some tags for visibility.

Dzahn mentioned this in Unknown Object (Task).Feb 8 2024, 5:21 PM

@DBu-WMF I think that other ticket I linked would be valuable info for you but I realized you currently don't have access to that. We can look into that.

DBu-WMF raised the priority of this task from Medium to High.Mar 25 2024, 7:41 PM

Can I please have access to DMARC Digests as soon as possible. We are starting to see deliverability issues at Google Postmaster. Whoever has the DMARC Digests access I need a login for it.

looks like I do not have access to ticket T330944. Can someone please grant me access.

Mentioned in SAL (#wikimedia-operations) [2024-03-25T22:03:16Z] <mutante> phabricator - added DBu-WMF (Danny Bu) to WMF-NDA - T356920

looks like I do not have access to ticket T330944. Can someone please grant me access.

I tried this on February 8 by asking on that ticket but had no response. I have now added you to the group WMF-NDA. Please check if you have access now.

Hey @Dzahn this ticket number does not come up in search and when I add the ticket number to the url I get this message:

Access Denied: Unknown Object (Task)
This object is in a space you do not have permission to access.

I suspect this is not the correct task number in the reference above.
I do have access to WMF-NDA now.

@DBu-WMF Sorry, I tried. Then it's further restricted than just NDA-level due to Security. Please contact @Jgreen, @jhathaway or the security team directly.

T330944 is a task which requires being a member of WMF-NDA on Phab.
@DBu-WMF: I've made you a member now (after verifying your account via https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?page=User:DBu-WMF )

Edit: Argh, that very task is in the isolated Space S4. So no luck. Sorry! :( So yeah, what Dzahn wrote in the last comment...

fwiw, I don't see how that ticket is even related to S4. but I'm sure I am missing something there.

@Dzahn: The Space is displayed as a prefix of the task title, separated by a pipeline character.

@jhathaway: Another question is why the task is in S4 (Hardware Procurement) while it seems to have nothing to do with hardware procurement?

@jhathaway: Another question is why the task is in S4 (Hardware Procurement) while it seems to have nothing to do with hardware procurement?

I added it to S4 SRE/Operations Procurement because we were attaching vendor quotes, which were deemed not to be public information.

@DBu-WMF the current dmarc monitoring is still a work in progress. ITS has purchased a subscription to dmarcdigests via the security budget, which is currently active, but they are not intending to keep the service long term. However you can open a ticket with ITS to request access, while it is still available. As another route @Jgreen wrote some scripts for ingesting the reports for their own needs and we briefly discussed reusing that tooling outside of fund raising tech, but the work has not been planned as of yet.

@jhathaway Thanks for the info. I started this process with ITS and they asked me to open a Phab but happy to go back and ask for access to dmarcdigests. It is fine if we don't keep the tool long term. Whatever it is we are using I need to monitor it. @Jgreen if you have some methodology that will work please let me know. Let me know if the best way to communicate with you is via this ticket or Slack or something else.

Declining request as the requester's account has been disabled.
