Hey @So9q i tried this on desktop and it also doesn't work for me. Our team will take a look at this soon. Thanks for flagging this and creating such a thoroigh bug report.

FWIW I currently cannot reproduce this on staging.

We suspect this may have been due to our elasticsearch outages? @Charlie_WMDE / @So9q would you mind trying again?

Not sure why tbh. Are you populating the form fields with references to existing items?

I strongly suspect that this could be tied to the issues with search: how I would expect the selected items to be found. I tried this myself as another data-point and could replicate the behaviour shown in @Fring 's video (i.e. works for me)

Ello! @Fring yes i had tried it with existing items that i created specifically to test it with. I tried it again just now and it works now! not sure what changed between then and now but i did all the same things.

@So9q can you confirm that the problem is also solved on your end until end of this week? thanks!

not sure what changed between then and now but i did all the same things

The system relies on ElasticSearch being up/stable when retrieving the referenced items. Considering this part of the stack has been relatively unstable again lately, it's likely ElasticSearch has been down when you tried, preventing you from creating the new items.

@Fring gotcha, thanks. moving this back to the backlog for now since it seems resolved. will move it back to todo in case @So9q gets back to us with persisting issues
