@Peachey88 , why did you remove these tags? If this is something that should be done every time, the Video2Commons tool should probably be changed.
why did you remove these tags?
Because this single-file-upload task is irrelevant for the entire Commons folks and because this is not a site request per definition.
If this is something that should be done every time, the Video2Commons tool should probably be changed.
Indeed, I filed https://github.com/toolforge/video2commons/issues/207
[Not directed at you specificly] Why are there so many upload requests from video2commons all of a sudden? Shouldnt the tool be doing the upload themselves? Are all of these instances where the upload failed?
The videos are too large, usually 3 GB+. I really don't know why it sometimes fails on the server side or gets stuck at <var>X</var>% for days, or sometimes uploads lightning fast.
To answer my own question, the previous upload attempt of this file failed due to swift returning a 503 - https://logstash.wikimedia.org/goto/028d44407b2772450098c344351d913d . Looking at logs there is a large spike of Swift errors between july 3 and july 6.Presumably something broke in swift and it is not a mediawiki nor video2commons issue.
