add a prometheus metric that is incremented for each page the update pipeline ships updates to the weighted_tags. We could perhaps use the tag prefix as a prometheus label, making it possible to see that things are flowing (or not) for particular use cases. We can also add the wiki/db-name as a label so to allow troubleshooting wiki-specific issues.
