This image seems to scale up, but not down, using the thumbnail syntax. This
seems to still work with other images, though.
This is even more strange as this is a thumbnail generated by mediawiki (which
was mistakingly uploaded instead of copying the original full resolution version).

Copied to my local install and it works fine; may be a broken directory on the
server. Taking a look...
As I suspected, there was an old thumbnail file in the way:
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 8702 Jun 14 13:10 300px-Lake_Sevan.jpg
After removing it and rerendering the page, the thumb rendered:
drwxrwxrwx 2 apache apache 96 Sep 14 07:24 300px-Lake_Sevan.jpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 4360 Sep 14 07:24 300px-Lake_Sevan.jpg/200px-300px-Lake_Sevan.jpg
I'm certain we've already got a bug report on this subject but can't find it now. :(
