Hi, please test/learn in https://phab-01.wmflabs.org/

This is a production instance. Thank you!

Testing out this board is a legitimate task.

Now imagine 1000 users joining and doing the same thing.

Honestly, https://phab-01.wmflabs.org/ is a replica created exactly for this kind of exercise. You understand the rest, and I will not argue with you. :)

Qgil, I'm not sure why you feel like you need to police our work board, but I assure you that my teammates don't mind.

@Halfak -- hey dude, my understanding is we asked people not to use the official prod instance as an "I'm learning phab" testing bed as it clutters up the search namespace and creates a lot of noise / churn for notifications. The phab-01 instance was designated for the, can phab do this? exploring. So I think @Qgil isn't really trying to police you, more like ask you politely to create tasks for exploration that are not actual production tasks elsewhere.

Look guys, I'm not "learning phab". I learned generally how Phab works on the last instance. However, I did need to check that permissions were set up correctly for me to create, assign and move tasks in this instance and with this project.

I don't really know what you mean about "production tasks", but setting up this board and making sure it works is a legitimate task that I did as a member of my team (R&D).

I think I expected that "Experiment with Phabricator workboards" == "learning phab". Maybe it's a case of a title that misled, but comments like "This is a test comment on the test task." and "How will we know when I am bored?" it seems like this is not an appropriate place for that. Not trying to be heavy handed on you man, more in the way of "hey if you are going to be doing more exploring please don't do it here where we all get updates and emails". anyways, thanks for listening and responding

Is there some way that I can turn these updates off for you on my side? I don't see a good reason why R&D's activities need to show up in your inbox.
