Description

http://koti.kapsi.fi/~federico/twnstats/ has proven useful, but is now 1 year old. The work by Erik on T64566 made things easier and I still have the code tweaks from my first run, so the reiteration with wikistats should be easy as soon as I acquire a dump (either by gentle concession by a shell user or via dumpgenerator.py).

What is blocking this?

I didn't have a dump to run the scripts on. I made a new dump at some point but I never got to verifying it. I think I still have my wikistats code (with the various small changes needed to run it locally), which might still work or not.

If you can make a new dump from the command line, and put it on some webserver directory, that would help.

Is there some ticket to have regular dumps, or how to proceed with this ticket in the long run? :)

This seems to have stuck in the chicken-egg state: no point automating dumps, if there is no certain uses, and there are no such uses without dumps.

Why automate?

This task has been assigned to the same task owner for more than two years. Resetting task assignee due to inactivity, to decrease task cookie-licking and to get a slightly more realistic overview of plans. Please feel free to assign this task to yourself again if you still realistically work or plan to work on this task - it would be welcome!

(For the records, two emails were sent to assignee addresses before resetting assignees. See T228575 for more info and for potential feedback. Thanks!)

I am boldly thinking this is not going to happen, given it has not happened in the past 5+ years.
