There is a new search team, and we would like to create a mailing list for it.
Two lists in total should be created:
wikimedia-search wikimedia-search-private
The private list should be limited to members of the search vertical
For two list administrators they should be:
tfinc@wikimedia.org manybubbles@wikimedia.org
Open question i suppose, do we need a private mailing list? I would lean towards open, but perhaps we need both?
Per our weekly meeting I already had a request out to IT to create a search and search-tech mailing list. Should be done shortly.
@Tfinc OIT don't manage Wikimedia mailing lists on lists.wikimedia.org only Google groups. If you want Google groups instead of a mailing list please close this ticket otherwise assign it to me and I will create the lists once I see the assignment to myself. Thanks.
We are looking for lists.wikimedia.org mailing list, so i've assigned the task to john.
Done. Both lists have the same password for ease currently. Said password has been emailed to the list administrators.
I noticed that the wikimedia-search (public) list had not been added on Gmane. JohnLewis, please don't forget this important step. (I've now requested the inclusion, but we'll need to import the archives at some point and that's painful.)
