Clicking on "Summarize" then on "Edit title" should let you edit the title, but nothing happens

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Search/Old
  2. On the top topic, click on the overflow menu and choose "Summarize"
  3. On the top topic, click on the overflow menu and choose "Edit title"

Expected behaviour:

  • The summarise dialogue closes, and the edit title dialogue opens

Actual behaviour:

  • Nothing happens

Related bugs:

  • T102012: if you click on the "Summarize" and "Edit title" buttons in a different order, the behaviour you get is totally different.

Sort of. The bad behaviour described is fixed; now, if you click on "Summarize", then "Edit title", both fields are editable, whereas nothing happened before. That's an improvement. However, I believe it is a design mistake to allow the user to edit both the summary and the title at the same time; having two dialogues open, both of which require user input, presents unnecessary complexity to the user. I think it'd be better to ask the user to finish what they're doing before they try to start doing something else.

I'll let the Collaboration Team decide whether it is sufficiently fixed for them, or if they'd like to keep this open for further iteration in the future.
