We need a tab in the top tab bar (where watch, history, protect etc is) that editors can click to initiate a quality check of an item. When the button is clicked the violations API is called and each statement that has a violation gets a little indicator icon next to it.

@Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE @Jonas: Do we still need this or can we get away without an on-demand check?

We were thinking about a similar tab to enable or disable automatic constraint checks when we want to make this feature available for all users (without the gadget), but I’m not sure if that’s within the scope of this task. On-demand checks themselves are obsolete for now, I think.

Ok then let's close this.
As for a tab: no as I had already said. It differs too much from all the other configuration options we have.
