Special:Notifications not showing "More..." at bottom at some wikis, erratically

Description

If I visit [[special:notifications]], then scroll to the bottom, then sometimes...

  • sometimes there is not a "More..." blue button to load older notifications.
  • sometimes the button is there for the first click, but when I scroll to the bottom of that second batch, then button is not there to load a third batch.
  • sometimes it works normally.

No discernible pattern regarding re-logging-in.

Confirmed in Firefox and Chrome.

Note: We think it *was* related to moderated notifications. Should retest with that premise.

@Quiddity when you have a chance - can you re-check the pagination on Special:Notifications for wikis that you listed?

Hmm, odd results.
Enwiki only goes back to September 2015 (51-98 results on 2nd page)

MW only goes back to April 2016 (~200-250 results, but no numbering label for the final set)
I have Echo emails going back to at least 2014. There should be many hundreds.

There probably should be quite a few hundred more.

(Unfortunately I tend to delete echo emails, once I've read/dealt with the contents, so I can't give accurate counts on how many there should be.)

The pagination has been improved (including some design re-work: no 'More' at the bottom of Special:Notifications; the top pagination controls are sticky for vertical scrolling.
