Adds specific when birth year contains c.
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

AWB SVN 11961 adds a specific when the birth year is preceded with "c." (e.g. On Piotr Stańczak, AWB sees "birth_date = c. 1966" and adds )

Event Timeline

The update to Template:Death date and age in April 2015 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Death_date_and_age&diff=654814127&oldid=654721781 introduced a new mode for approximate dates of birth that we weren't notified about

The article has
and birth_date = c. 1966

Which seems inconsistent to me. If the birth date is only approximately 1966 then 1966 cannot be used in death date and age as the calculated age at death of 42 or 43 may not be accurate if year of birth could have been 1964 etc. So I would say article is wrong and birth year parameter should only be put in death date and age when it is the correct year (behaviour of template is to allow correct year when month or day not known). So perhaps article can only use death date template. Do you agree @GoingBatty?

Yes, I agree. When I replaced with and ran the article through AWB again, it did not make any category changes. Thanks!
