Learn about the core products supported by the Cloud Services team and how you can use them to solve technical problems for the Wikimedia movement.

Topics we can cover:

  • Labs projects (self-service VPS creation)
  • Tool Labs (shared hosting/distributed computing resources)
    • Grid engine (distributed job processing)
    • Kubernetes (Docker container based webservice hosting and more)
  • Wikimedia database replicas (real-time clones of Wikimedia's production databases for you to search)
  • Quarry (web UI for database replicas)
  • PAWS (Jupyterhub with special integration for Wikimedia API access)

Yeah I think it should be applicable to anyone, and probably more new folks who aren't quite sure what the Labs and Tool Labs products are good for. We can totally unconference a more hard core discussion with existing users if there is demand. We will also be talking about some upcoming changes that I haven't sent the announcement emails about yet. #spoilers
