Description

There's a script in zhwiki to add coordinate from Google Maps to articles. It may be convenient if there's also a script to add them to Wikidata.

I think there is a risk for copyright violation to copy coordinates from google maps.
Suggesting to reject this ticket or consider the copyright side before going to implement that (there are probably other databases for which it is valid)

In Wikipedia this is a common practice.

Yep. But one thing is some individuals that have not a strong consideration of Wikidata CC0 policies; and one thing is officially endorsing copy-paste from Google Maps and other "all rights reserved" projects with an official tool that encourage this.

The risks are just too much high, and Wikidata is here to stay. This tool increases the probabilities to receive boring lawsuits, and the benefits do not outweigh this risk :(
