This makes VE work on all wikis if _NO_ additional configuration in the LocalSettings.php is made, e.g. not setting $wgVirtualRestConfig['modules']['parsoid'] or the Rest URLs.
Also important: No slash before the rest.php in the first case for the root wiki - it won't work with a slash!

I think explaining the situation would be very helpful. A plan is not high priority.

That's cool. But as long as it is not important it does not need to be fixed.

As more data gets added, job queue is going to get even higher. More and more bots are going to be added. The day that wiktionary words are added to items, Wikidata is going to overflow.
