Please note that renaming a mailing list is a fairly intensive process that requires downtime of the entire mailing server during the rename/migration. This seems a lot of work, to change african to africa. This list also has an archive, and moving the archive may result in its reindexing, and old links to the archive becoming invalid.

If this name change is approved by the users/community, it still has the above hurdles for implementation.

But judging by your comment, it's 8:2 (changing:allow) which kinda aligns with the direction of our discussions internally. However, we'll get back to you with a final decision. Hello @D3r1ck01 Are you still interested in a rename of the list? We meanwhile have a script for that so it would be less time-intensive than before and doable. Though we still can't guarantee that existing links to archives wouldn't get renumbered.
