Wikidata Workshop & Hands-On Wikidata

Date: Friday 6th April 2018

Time: 9am - 4pm

Venue: Hotel St. Claire (Hall) - Buea

Organizers: @Eugene233, @D3r1ck01, @rosalieper

Plan:

  • Quick introduction of organizers and intro to Wikidata (project) -- <30mins>
  • Quick introduction of all attendees -- <10mins>
  • Talk on Wikidata for Beginners (by Eugene Egbe) -- <1hr>
  • Benefits of Editing Wikidata and the Future of Wikidata (by Derick N. Alangi) -- <20mins>
  • Hands-On Wikidata (this will include participants adding items which represent themselves to Wikidata, editing existing items, about 50 - 100 items and Querying Wikidata for the items specified) -- <2hr>
  • Launch Break -- Launch Break -- Launch Break -- <45mins>
  • Panel discussions on sample project ideas around Wikidata(by All Organizers + participants ) -- <1hr 30mins>
  • Conclusion and Remarks -- <45mins>
