Wikidata Edit-a-thon 2018 in Buea

Description

Given that the affiliate Community ( Wikimedians of Cameroon User Group ) is looking at launching a project to keep these volunteers active while they ride on with the aim of fostering their desire to contribute towards the Foundation's mission in the African society,

These series of events are organized in order to:

  • Provide means to most of the Wikimedians from Buea (Cameroon) who are volunteer developers to the Wikimedia projects.
  • Show them how to engage themselves in these projects and also developing sister projects as well.
  • Craft sample project ideas and create a wishlist to launch a Wikimedia inclined project to be developed by Wikimedians of Cameroon User Group around Wikidata.

The event dates have been changed due to the delay in reply from the grant committee.

And there will still be another delay again as we just received funds today! @Eugene233, @rosalieper, we'll have a meeting and discuss about the final dates of the event (and update the phab tickets) and mail participants ASAP. Thanks!

Participants requested that we should have monthly events to add content to Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons.

Proposed : Last week of every month - Thursday, Friday and Saturday (3 days).

We will work on coming up with a plan to handle this recurrent events every month.
