Please create a Tech Ambassadors Tag project
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

See https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Tech/Ambassadors/List#A_Phab_workboard_for_us? .
I'll create a workboard and columns, and start adding people who should be following that project.

(In a first test phase after it's created, the group will mainly discuss what the project should look like (that is, basically, how many columns it should have), and only I (or another Community Liaison) will actually tag any tasks so that they end up on the workboard. This is temporary, and only so that we don't end up with too many things at once. Did I tag something I shouldn't have tagged? Did I miss an important task instead? These are the only 2 questions we will try to answer in this phase!)

Please LMK if any other info is necessary.

Event Timeline

"Tag for changes that require tech ambassadors' attention and/or action. A proposed working tool for the Tech Ambassadors group: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/Ambassadors/List#Signup_table ."

Aklapper claimed this task.

Requested public project Tech Ambassadors & Translators has been created: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/view/3302/

Please encourage interested people to visit the project and to join the project as members, and to watch the project in order to receive updates!

Feel free to bring up any questions you might have about Phabricator or about best ways to manage projects in Phabricator.

Enjoy!

@Aklapper thanks again.
Question: is there a particular reason why you went with the "group" format rather than the "tag" one as requested in the title? Just asking as I envisioned Tech Ambassadors as a tag pretty much like Tech News' one (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/profile/1097/ ), something that's added to tasks to flag that attention is required by this group of people :)

No strong reasons - the name sounded like a group of people and many folks say "tag" nowadays when they mean "project"...

If changing would mean much extra work, a new link etc., then it's probably not worth it, at least now? The way people use projects seems to imply involving groups of users anyway.

Anyone can edit the project and its color and icon :)

Great, then I'll consider that. TYVM!
