I'd like to understand what this task is about. Was it similar to T193169: [reportupdater] Add a configurable hive client, or was the intent to migrate SQL to Hive?

I would think that this ticket should probabaly be closed now.

We're looking to deprectate the hive CLI and mapreduce, in favour of either Spark or Presto.

Similarly, we're looking to migrate reportupdater jobs to Airflow as the scheduler: T307540: [Airflow Migration] Migrate reportupdater jobs
