Generating a comprehensive move history for an article
Open, LowPublicFeature

Description

Author: benjamin.beaton

Description:
Currently, viewing the move log for an article only lists entries where an article has been moved AWAY from that title. Is there a way to also list the instances where the article has been moved TO the title? Or, even better, a way to show ALL the previous titles that the article has had? Currently, the only way I know to compile a history of an article's title is to manually scan back through its history, and jotting down all the moves that I can see. However, this can take a long time for an article with a long history. A move log that traveled with the article would be helpful, or an option on the history page that would filter out all non-move edits and only show the move history of the article.

See also T10731 which is about the wider problem of log actions being hard to track across page moves. And that includes of course the "page move" action itself.

I'll keep this open separately for now as it is an important use case, which could end up being solved by other means.
