Add mark as patrolled option to the menu
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

On NL Wikipedia and several other wiki's, we use the mark as patrolled option to monitor and check recent changes. Would it be possible to add "mark as patrolled" to the menu of navigation pop up? This would mean much less clicking would we required. Kind regards, Ellywa

It's irksome to view a diff via a pop-up, see that it is good, but then have to open it to mark it as patrolled.

There are several requests for this, as far back as 2009, on the en.Wikipedia talk page: https://w.wiki/GFs

Have you try to put "window.popupReview = true;" in your config file? It works for me on Russian wiki.

Now I tried it, but that’s review, not patrol. I know it’s confusing, but review belongs to MediaWiki-extensions-FlaggedRevs, while patrol is a MediaWiki core feature. The two do basically the same thing (authorized users can mark that they saw that edit), but there are many differences in the details, and, more importantly, are simply two separate systems that have different APIs; the review API doesn’t exist at all at wikis without FlaggedRevs (e.g. Wikidata).

Given how many clicks it takes to mark a change patrolled, I'm surprised that there's no option for patrollers to quickly view a diff in recent changes and (at least) mark it as good without going to other pages (and back). So much time of our most experienced users is wasted for patrolling, having this in Navigation Popups, if not in the wm software itself, should be high on priorities list.
