Add {{extracted from}} Commons template in the derivative
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

As per the requests at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:VideoCutTool#Two_notes

We need to use the "{{extracted from}}" template in the derivative.

Event Timeline

I think that the license and author should be taken from the original file. As cropping a file does not gives copyright to the user that cropped the file and the original author have anyway atleast some copyright over the derivative version.

And also what about cropping single frame? It would be very useful to crop only a single photo.

Can you please describe about this feature little more?

Hi @Gopavasanth ,

The tool is cropping part of video clip, but I think it is good idea to crop only one a single frame with a button for single frame. I believe that cropping only one shot will processed quicker like CropTool.
