Cannot load pages from zh.wiki on mobile apps

Description

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Make sure you are using the newest version of Wikipedia Mobile app (Version 6.6.2 for iOS and Version 2.7.50330-r-2020-08-04 for Android)
  2. Load any page from zh.wiki using the mobile app.
  3. The page won't load, with an error message saying "There was a network error." on Android and "WMF.RequestError 0" on iOS.

Actual Results:

Per above, page won't load, with error messages.

Expected Results:

The page should load.

Please also notice that this bug report is different from T262705. This is a new problem.

I think it's a dupe of T262691: High numbers of HTTP 429 errors though

Now here at the current time, the iOS app works fine, and the Android app starts getting 429 errors. I wonder whether there was a rollback or something, or the server just magically recovered by itself. The issue (other than 429) did exist couple of hours ago. I suspect that this is a problem that arises during WMF's attempt of solving the HTTP 429 incident.
