new magic word for knowing the user thumbsize.
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: esby

Description:
Right now, there is no way to know the thumb size an user is requesting.
This makes the infoboxes images used with a fixed size instead of a thumbsize.
Because an infoboxe size cannot be adjusted to the thumbsize because it can vary.

Hence creating a {{THUMBSIZE}} keyword could help here.

On another note, there are image used as icons, which could benefit of an 'icon' parameter like the actual 'thumb' parameter. With an icon size that could be configured by the user, and associated with an {{ICONSIZE}} keyword.

If this is to be done, it will require Parser work. Asking Tim for his thoughts.

Would {{THUMBSIZE}} represent the specific preference the currently logged in user has or the default size (both are variable, but the latter is the same on all pages for all users)

This is WONTFIX for all the reasons outlined bug 2085, bug 17397 and a host of other per-user parser tags.

They completely defeat the point of caching.
