Monitoring the spam/vandalism on Governance Wiki, and contemplating the goals outlined on Meta-Wiki, I would like to request/suggest we do the following:

• Limit any editing to registered accounts (I believe this fits with original scope of allowing engaged volunteers to contribute to governance matters).
• Extend editor group protections/limitations to any namespaces beyond Translate, Talk, and User.
  • I am open to ideas on other namespaces to expand to. However, given desire to reduce vandalism and promote discussion and translations - I think limiting to these namespaces and expanding further as necessary will serve our needs better than starting with few limits and adding more as needed.

I can authorize these changes on behave of Communications department within the Foundation as caretaker of this wiki. That said, I absolutely welcome feedback on if these or other changes will best help us achieve goals for this wiki while keeping edits which are potentially harmful or otherwise unwanted to a minimum.

Quick reminder that the Foundation does not see the Wikimedia Foundation Governance Wiki (foundation.wikimedia.org) as being the same as project wikis hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation. So our requests for this wiki should not be considered as indications of existing or future desire on content wikis. Similar to wikis used for Wikimedia movement affiliates, this wiki is meant to support the operational needs of one specific entity within the broader Wikimedia movement (in this case the Wikimedia Foundation).
