As captured in T253303:

The search box gets the input focus automatically when the selector is opened

However, in the test instance where the new Vue 3 version of Section Translation is available (T299622) the search field is not getting the input automatically:

According to my testing, this issue seems resolved in test instance (https://sx.wmflabs.org/index.php/Special:ContentTranslation#/).
