Also, the docs say a bunch of DNS aliases should be created. I think these don't need to be public but it would be nice to know if that's an option. The DNS Zones menu in Horizon seemed like it would support public domain aliases - is that the case?
+1 on the floating ip for this project. Our shared proxy system in WMCS does not currently support arbitrary external ports or non-http protocols.
You should be able to create SRV & CNAME records as described in that document via Horizon under any of the zones owned by your project. If you end up wanting to make <something>.wmcloud.org names outside of those zones you will either need to use the shared proxy system to create HTTP services with the desired names or file requests to have admins create and delegate additional zones to your project.
