Vector 2022 search sometimes displays outdated results
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Open the Vector 2022 search, and throttle your connection to "Slow 3G"
  • Type a letter (e.g. "t"). Wait for results to appear
  • Type another letter (e.g. "tr"). Wait for results to appear.
  • Hit backspace (so you're back at "t"), wait about half a second, then hit backspace again (so the input is empty) and quickly type another letter ("u")

What happens?:
Results for "t" appear, and are then replaced with results for "u"

What should have happened instead?:
The results for "t" shouldn't appear while the search input contains "u". Only the results for "u" should appear (once they're ready).

Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
