In 2020/2021 the very small Papiamentu community worked hard to translate the Mediawiki core interface. With the new Vector 2022 skin, it looks like everything is back to the default English. :(
I am not sure what you can do about this, but do want to flag this with you, and maybe there are ways that earlier translations can be restored.

I do not see any differences in UI messages when quickly comparing between https://pap.wikipedia.org/wiki/Página_Prinsipal?useskin=vector and https://pap.wikipedia.org/wiki/Página_Prinsipal?useskin=vector-2022 ?
Afaik there were more translations in left sidebar, now the collapsible one. There may be more differences, we'll need to look at Translatewiki stats for those.
I actually hoped the team could provide an overview for this, but if the cause is not the new skin translations might have been lost in the process just before...?

The old strings do seem to be there, but there are a lot of new strings that are yet to be translated. Notably the languages menu in the top right-hand corner, and in @Aklapper's screen shot there are also some obviously new strings such as "Switch to old look" and in the version I see on my screen there is a text below "Languages" stating that these have moved to the top-right corner. Those can't have existed in the old version, but I expect "Languages" would have been there. Isn't this more a matter of going into translatewiki to add the newly discovered strings?
I have enumerated a small list of things I found missing at our village pump (it's not in English, but I trust you can get the gist). I suspect the ball is in our court, isn't it?
Thanks! Hmm... so is there any specific translations that got lost though the English string did not change (as the term "restore" was used in this ticket)?
(Also, if you are looking for specific strings to localize on translatewiki, you can get the message IDs by using uselang=qqx in e.g. https://pap.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Portal_di_komunidat?uselang=qqx and then going to e.g. https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=MediaWiki:Vector-no-language-button-label/pap )
Thank you! That's very helpful. I didn't know that trick. I don't know of any 'lost' translations myself, but perhaps @Ciell can point them out.
