Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
There is no way to reproduce random behaviour (Curious Facts’ behaviour is random) but this was what happened.
- Went to Curious Facts
- Pressed Give me some new weird stuff
What happens?:
It gave “Song dynasty has a statement "country of citizenship: Nie Pingzhong" but Nie Pingzhong is not found in the class "state". This fact was established on: 2022-12-10 04:42:28, and is based on the 2022-11-28 snapshot in hdfs of the Wikidata JSON dump. Edits made after that date are not taken into account.”
I went to Wikidata to check this claim. Nie Pingzhong (last modified 2022-08-18) has claim “country of citizenship: Song dynasty” while Song dynasty (last modified 2022-11-22) does not have a country of citizenship claim. The anonaly was a false positive.
What should have happened instead?:
It should have found nothing curious because as of 2022-11-28 Song dynasty should not have had a statement “country of citizenship: Nie Pingzhong”.
Without knowing how the tool works, it *looks* like something has caused the tool to make its inference backwards, causing the false positive.
