In Minerva Neue (mobile site), the link for user talk pages in the user portlet is a “thank” icon. This can be inappropriate for many usages of talk pages, for example, to warn a user, which has a negative connotation. I suggest the icon be replaced with the discussion icon or something similar.

Re-tagging since the icon is centrally defined in OOUI/Codex https://doc.wikimedia.org/oojs-ui/master/demos/?page=icons&theme=wikimediaui&direction=ltr&platform=desktop
This is quite a late response, apologies as we've been working on getting through our queue of requests. @EpicPupper can you provide a bit more info on this? e.g. links/screenshots that make it clearer where and what the icon in question is?
I think this is about the userTalk icon, which shows a speech bubble with a smiling face on it. In the Thanks integration in MobileFrontend, this icon is used for the "thank" button, which makes sense given the positive iconography. But MinervaNeue also uses the userTalk icon to represent going to someone's user talk page; this makes sense given the icon's name, but less so given the iconography, as going to one's own talk page and expressing/receiving gratitude to them aren't necessarily the same. Notifications from the Flow extension use the speechBubbles icon to represent a conversation thread, which might be a better fit for the MinervaNeue use case of going to one's own talk page.
Here's the userTalk icon being used for a button that thanks a user, and in a notification that someone else has thanked you:

The main options I see are:
- Change the icon for the user's own talk page in MinervaNeue to a different icon, maybe speechBubbles
- Design a new icon to represent a user talk page, maybe something like the custom userSpeechBubble icon in Echo
In combination with either 1 or 2, we could consider renaming the userTalk icon to thank. If we do #2, such a rename would allow us to name the new icon userTalk.
Adding Web team back in as the design decision for changing to a different new/existing icon (or keeping the status quo) for the user's own talk page in the personal tools menu should be taken with Web, since they are maintainers of Minerva and also the new Vector 2022 design (which now uses the same thank icon).
