Description

Hi. Two users reported that their skin preferences are not loaded (or not applied) on some pages (long pages).

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  1. Have old vector selected. (or monobook, not sure)
  2. Go to long pages like WP:BAR or WP:DNU.

What happens?:

Page is loaded as vector '22.

What should have happened instead?:

Preferred skin should be used.

I don't know if you can try to investigate this. Maybe copy over his settings and check if you can reproduce? Or maybe there were other reports like that?

Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
MW-1.41-notes (1.41.0-wmf.25; 2023-09-05)

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

This was right after the session changes were deployed so might be related. One user reported login/out helped. The other one said it didn't help.

These transclude Special pages, which is a much more likely trigger for this problem. I think i even remember seeing a ticket about this before.

@Cykun: This task is closed and it's unclear what those screenshots have to do with this task

Hi. @Aklapper this shows that Wikipedia:Portal wikipedystów also triggers the switch of skin from monobook (prefered by Cuku New) to default (V'22).

But yes, as Matma seemed to have already fixed the problem then this only confirms how it looks like.

PS: I passed on the good news to pl.wiki that this should be fixed.

The fix was just deployed, I checked again and all of the pages (including https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Portal_wikipedystów) behave correctly now.
