Open, HighPublic

Description

(draft) high level tasks

  • Separate Nurturing Wikimedia research communities from the Conducting Foundational work program. (Name of the new roadmap is TBD. Nurturing ... is a placeholder.)
  • prepare the draft of what we have done from the relevant parts of the old roadmap and what we have learned.
  • Engage (part or all of) the team to discuss and set direction for the coming few years. Engage relevant engineering and product managers, leaders, ICs, selected members of the research community, and related community programs in WMF.
  • Write the roadmap

Accountability and responsibility
Roadmap accountability will be with the Research Community Officer role. The Research team will be responsible for executing it.

Approval

@leila if you don't object, I want to close the sub-tasks and change this to a regular task (ie not an epic) to include all updates on this work here. I think the split in the sub-tasks is a bit unclear since some of the things are happening simultaneously

@KinneretG If at this point you expect the work to be concluded within a quarter, sounds good to me. In that case please put a deadline for the task (fwiw: seeing where you are with it and team capacity, end of July can be a good time to aim for to conclude the task if that works for you.) (Check https://office.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research/Documentation/Phabricator#Lane_3:_Epics for the logic behind the Epics lane.)
