Invistgate a Technical Issues with Saved Articles: Overcounting and Offline Viewing Concerns
Open, LowPublic

Description

Hello, I am a student who’s been using the saved articles feature of the Wikipedia app to organise my research / references, however there appears to be some issue or bug as when I refresh to synch my articles it’s saying I’ve got saved 4770 articles in 18 reading lists, however counting my saved articles I actually am saving less than half of that and I only have 17 reading lists so what is it counting as all those extra saved ones and will they be using up my storage space? And also I am aware that by saving an article one can view it off-online however when I visit an article from my history which I have not saved it still lets me view it when offline so is it downloading every single article I visit for offline access without me clicking the save button and is that why it’s saying I’ve got thousands of synced articles when I have actually only saved about a 1000?

I would delete the app and reinstall but I need all my saved articles for study purposes so right now can’t risk losing them, so if there’s any way to sort the technical issue / bug without deleting the app that would be great.
