Description

Hi, I've been noticing some transient problems with the UploadWizard. They usually don't all happen at once.

Sometimes, when the window for selecting files opens, none of the thumbnails of the files are displayed.
Although the wizard works, it is unable to retrieve thumbnails which makes it difficult to assign names to the files (I then have to open the folder on my hard disk containing the original files so that I can match the filenames and the files).
On the screen for naming the files, they are not arranged in alphabetical order which makes it inconvenient to use the automatic numbering function. Files from digital cameras are often numbered sequentially (eg, "IM000213", "IM000214", "IM000215" and so on). If the files appeared on the screen in alphabetical order, then they would also be sequential according to their numbers, and the automatic numbering function would be able to number them according to the order in which they were taken.

I experienced almost exactly the same issues lately, which was the first time I noticed them. The icons did not show up at the upload time, which made it very hard to provide correct descriptions.

Please create a separate report for each problem.

That window is handled by the OS, so it's unlikely we can help with that. Try to change your indexing settings.

I moved file ordering to T92801, preview problems are duplicate, file open dialog issues are invalid - closing this ticket.

What are indexing settings?

This refers to any settings whether to create and show thumbnails in your operating system's file chooser dialog.

Thanks. Is it really a problem with the browser, though? I only seem to get that problem when using the UploadWizard.

With your operating system, not with the browser. Probably depends on which directory you use. You can try fiddling with thumbnail cache settings, e.g. see this article for Windows 7. You might try to use smaller directories, rebuild the thumbnail cache, defragment your hard disk etc. etc.
