Hi, we have open sauce account, the main user is Cmcmahon_WMF. He is leaving the company and we would like to > make my account the main one. Chris has sent this mail to Amber, but we got no reply so far.

Hi Amber,

I have a favor to ask of you: I will be leaving the Wikimedia Foundation at
the end of this month, and I found no easy way to remove myself from the
free account that you had set up for WMF. Is that something you could do
for us?

Also, I would like to introduce you to Željko Filipin, my colleague and the
point of contact for WMF into the future.

Hi Željko,

Sorry you didn't get a response from Amber. As for your request I would like to take care of this for you but unfortunately the system doesn't let us change the username of an account. (This is a legacy architectural artifact that we have to live with. It's frustrating for us too!) There are a couple of options I can recommend, but it would help me to know the answer to a couple of options:

(1) Keep username Cmcmahon_WMF as the main account, but change the e-mail address on the main account to your colleague. (Usernames are not changeable because they are the primary key in our database. This is also a common request)

(2) Cancel the Cmcmahon_WMF account, make a new account and I can move all the subaccounts from the pervious parent account to the new one.

Please let me know what you'd like to do. I'm really sorry that these are less than ideal options.

Hi Renata,

can you cancel Cmcmahon_WMF account and make a generic one, like WMF? Please set it's e-mail to zfilipin@wikimedia.org.

There's already an account linked with that email: zfilipin@wikimedia.org. You can go ahead and create a new account using a different email and send me the USERNAME. I can them move all the subaccount to under that account.
