ORES extension should Assume good faith page creator's revisions
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

ORES extension should Assume good faith page creator's revisions if after the user auto-patrolled user edited the page,
for example at here user:NiloofarLatifian created the page after her edit auto-patrolled user: checked and edited that page.
Now the ores service should trust on user:NiloofarLatifianfor this article and don't show here revisions as should checked.

We have the same problem in Russian Wikipedia.

@Iniquity. Hey, Can you explain more?

Hi, in Russia Wikipedia we have 'editor' and 'autoeditor' users . These users almost the same with 'reviewer' and 'autoreviewer' users in English Wikipedia. This edit was made by a user with editor's rights and the edit was checked by him ('autoreview' flag in https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListGroupRights). But ORES isnt care about it.

Thanks for the explanation. What you need is to enable edit patrolling for Russian Wikipedia. Read this to know how that works and then make an RfC in your wiki to enable it and we can do it fast :) Also we can include these rights in ORES feature to make it more accurate. What do you think @Halfak?

@Ladsgroup, RuCommunity disabled a 'patrol' flag a lot of time ago:)

@Halfak, @Ladsgroup: thx, I think this is the best way!

@Yamaha5's bug is something different than what @Iniquity says. Reza says we need to determine if the page is patrolled and then mark every edit before that (or in another approach, all edits made by the author regardless of time) as patrolled.

We talked about this extensively in our backlog grooming. ORES review tool can't do such thing (technically it can but it's obviously out of its scope). I guess you need to make an RFC in mediawiki core (TechCom) and that part needs to be implemented in core itself and then ORES extension automatically applies this feature. So I'm declining this.
