Samarium was purchased 1/2013 so it probably won't make the priority list for hardware replacement before precise's EOL, so let's upgrade the OS before hardware replacement in this case.

Notes for upgrade:

• samarium gets very little traffic, maybe 10 legit hits per day
• there's a puppetized cron doing banner snapshots
• IRC bot 'slander' does fundraising log notifications [needs systemd init]
• /srv/* has crufty report data that is deployed from boron [just redeploy]
• Jenkins job "Samarium Data Mover" on barium and scp/rsync stuff back and forth
• /var/banner contains banner screenshot history [already preserved in archive]
• /var/www has some stuff to preserve
