As the Key Findings from the New Developers/Quarterly/2017-01 conveys that Wikipedia Android app is a project with most new volunteers, we would like to investigate the possibility of making it a featured project for new developers.

Event Timeline
Would the Android Team be interested in having the app listed under https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/New_Developers as a recommend project for new contributors?
We're asking as numbers in the last "New Developers" survey imply that some new contributors are interested in contributing to the app.
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Featured_Projects provides more information on what that would mean when it comes to tasks and offering mentoring.
Please feel free to ask if anything is unclear!
Hmm... and I'd rather expect this to be under "Open Questions / Discussions" than "Tracking" on the Wikipedia-Android-App-Backlog workboard? :)
We would absolutely welcome the idea of the Android app becoming a featured project for new contributors! In the coming days, the team and I will go through our Backlog(s) and identify tasks that can be easily picked up by newcomers (will tag as "Easy"). We'll also make sure that our documentation and onboarding materials are up to date.
@Dbrant: That is great to hear, thank you a lot! Also note (shameless plug) that you are more than welcome to offer any simpler tasks (not only programming related) in Google-Code-in-2017 which will start soon again. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Google_Code-in/2017 for more information.
@Dbrant hello! just checking... Is this something your team would have the time and interest in helping with? Android app shows up in our second report as well: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/New_Developers/Quarterly/2018-01 :)
