Description

Parsoid exposes the categories of a a wiki page in link elements with rel="mw:PageProp/Category". Currently this doesn't include the hidden categories.

Reading Infrastructure is building a page metadata endpoint that will include the categories of a page. (T172005) The mobile web site exposes the hidden categories of a page (e.g., https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama?mobileaction=beta#/categories) and so the reading web team would like the metadata endpoint to include the hidden categories in its listing.

In general, in MCS, we like to get data directly from the Parsoid HTML where we can. This task is for the Parsing team to consider exposing the hidden categories in the page.
