Include a ‘declined PROD/BLPPROD/CSD’ feature the choice of these messages. This would bring Curation in line with Twinkle and go a step further:
Hi. I’m just letting you know I have declined the CSD you placed on xxxxxxx because either it is either not covered by a criterion or this was not the approriate criterion. If you still feel the article should be deleted please use a different CSD rationale, or PROD it (recommended), or send it to AfD
Hi. I’m just letting you know I have declined the BLPPROD you placed on xxxxxxx because the article already has a link. If you still feel the article should be deleted please PROD it (recommended) or send it to AfD
Hi. I’m just letting you know I have replaced the PROD you placed on xxxxxxx with an appropriate CSD tag because the article is a clear case for speedy deletion.
@Insertcleverphrasehere: Adding PageTriage project tag so this task can be found when looking at PageCuration tasks at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/mediawiki-extensions-pagecuration/ . No need to add team tags like Growth-Team; that is up to each team (or automatic filters).
This would bring Curation in line with Twinkle and go a step further:
Twinkle does not support this feature. User-scripts like the one over https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ale_jrb/Scripts/csdhelper.js does.
I have never been able to get https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ale_jrb/Scripts/csdhelper.js to work.
This really needs to be added to the Page Curation system.
@Aklapper , could we have an update please?
@Kudpung: Not sure why you're asking me specifically. For the task status, see "Open" in the upper left corner: You or anyone else is free to work on this task.
For general understanding and information, see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bug_management/Development_prioritization - thanks!
@Aklapper, I'm asking you because by default in the absence of any published delegation of authority, you appear to be the de facto (or official) person in charge at Phab. Hence the 'go-to' person.
That said, this is a badly needed, missing feature of the curation system. Anyone who does just a handful of reviews a day will need to use it because the quality of patrolling, despite our efforts and the WMF's efforts to improve the technical side, is still not 100% perfect and pages are still being tagged through other channels viz. Twinkle by inexperienced users. It's not just a 'convenience' gadget, and an update in layman's terms would really be very helpful. Thanks.
@Barkeep49 , @Insertcleverphrasehere , could you comment here please.
@Kudpung: No, I am not in some position to read the mind of you or any other person what they plan to work on or not. You can assume by default that there is no progress on a task when there are no updates in a task - it is that simple. :) If you really want something to be implemented, your best bet is to provide a software patch. Replying to unspecific "Any updates?" comments does not feel like the best use of time when resources are already limited...
