Needed for beta deployment of the extensions:

  • Help page
  • Icon + beta feature description

Beta-feature deploys

  • beta sites: Done in T213415#4905532
  • test wikis: Done in T214905
  • de-wiki: Estimated deployment April 4th 2019

Community involvement
ReferencePreviews was the #1 wish of the 2017 German-speaking Technical Wishes survey, but has also been discussed since 2014 on phabricator (T67114) and the functionality exists in a multitude of wikis as a gadget (also see T67114, at the end of the ticket description)

@Aklapper Yes, the codebase is part of Extension:Popups. However, I would not call it a subproject of Page-Previews, but another instance of popups. So I guess we could have a Popups project and then ReferencePreviews and PagePreviews as subprojects, but I'm not sure if that will help very much. And thinking about it, I would like to keep the option of tagging sth with both projects, and other tickets with just one of them.
