Re-evaluate supporting dcatap namespace
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We are currently supporting DCAT-AP namespace on our servers, introduced in T178978:

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikidata_Query_Service/User_Manual#DCAT-AP

However, the analysis of the query logs suggests that there are only 3 queries to this namespace has been performed in this month, and even those seem to be from WMF network. Looks like some cron job or monitor? But no other clients requesting it in June or July.

I wonder whether we should continue supporting this namespace given such low usage.

The namespace itself is tiny but it has all kinds of code and scripts needed to maintain it, and if the usage is so low, maybe there's no real point in keeping it. It's not hard, so if this level of usage is acceptable it's fine, just wanted to put this question on the table to consider.

This may be moved to a separate endpoint, probably in Toolforge.

I think moving it to VPS endpoint is probably the best solution.
