As an editor, I would like the ability to start either a top-section (section 0) edit or a whole-page edit on any platform.
Section-specific editing is generally preferable (T209974 is in that spirit), but there are cases where you do need to edit the whole page.
On English Wikipedia, I enable the gadget that adds edit links for section 0. Their placement isn't perfect, but the added functionality is worth it. It doesn't work with mobile or Minerva.
If a big sticking point for T2156: Add section edit link for 0th section of a page/article is the confusion of having two sets of edit items at the top of the page, or lack of a good place to locate the top-edit item, then consider that this is already solved for AMC:
- use the page tools overflow menu
Given the intended audience / user base for AMC, the slightly added complexity shouldn't be a show-stopper.
Adding a UI element obviously requires that the corresponding URL works via Mobile Frontend.
