I just checked and this seems to be happening only for notices and not for alerts. I'm able to see the unread notices from other wikis in my mobile but not in desktop.

This seems to be different from T236488. I'm not able to see inter-wiki notices in desktop, at all times. I still see the notification indicator as mentioned in the description, though. I'm able to reproduce this consistently.

I thought that too. But then I changed my thought and started thinking like "This title is speaking of a possibility of viewing notices without needing a separate icon. But we're concerned about not getting notices at all in desktop." That's why I mentioned that there wasn't any explicit mention of the issue described here in that task.

Previously notices were accessible via the overlay that opened when you clicked the icon however this was intentionally broken to separate mobile and desktop experiences more cleanly. Long term we would like to remove the mobile version in favor of the desktop version.

It would have better if this was broken more correctly 😉 I mean it would've been better if we don't show the red notification indicator at all when there are unread inter-wiki notices. Showing the indicator and not showing the notice is misleading.
