[M Lg] Low contrast on "We ask you, humbly, to help." text in Orange background w/ orange border
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Summary:
This is a potential accessibility issue, it was observed during testing today that the "We ask you, humbly, to help." is too similar in color to the background color, resulting in a very low contrast.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple?banner=scervantes_B2021_0708_enNL_m_p1_lg_txt_twin1_orangeborder&country=NL
  2. Scroll down until you see the "We ask you, humbly, to help" text

Actual Results:
Currently there is a low contrast between the text and the background for the "We ask you, humbly, to help" text

Expected Results:
It would be great for accessibility purposes if the "We ask you, humbly, to help" text were updated to a similar color as the rest of the text on this banner, resulting in a higher contrast

Event Timeline

It also looks like this other variant has very low contrast on the same text - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple?banner=scervantes_B2021_0708_enNL_m_p1_lg_txt_twin1_lightorangebg_darktext&country=NL

@scervantes would you mind applying the same fix to the above banner? Or would you prefer I just create a separate task for that?

This comes directly from Control, so it's not related to this specific iteration(s).

To add, the text and background do comply with accessibility guidelines. See here:

I agree with @scervantes. This meets the WCAG AA standard, which is what we usually target.

Thanks for the inputs everyone! Ok since this has now been fully addressed I'm closing this now as "Invalid" as it matches control and meeds the WCAG AA standard requirements.
