Hide images from article view during text selection

  1. Use "Cat" article on beta cluster to create a story.
  2. Scroll down till the end on story text selection screen.
  3. They don't add any value on text selection screen therefore we can remove them.

Event Timeline

Hiding the images I think is the most important thing here since we've done this from the start but it may have been broken by changes in the article output HTML structure.

Hiding the "see also" section and other useless sections was discussed in T309565: Remove unnecessary section "See also" from the article but we don't know how to do it in a universal manner. Section names are arbitrary within and across languages. This will be made easier in the future as the work on section identification and mapping evolves. In the short term, we could add a config for idwiki to specify local names of sections that we should remove. This is probably best done in its own task.

Removing the special navigation may have similar challenges: no consistent structure or naming within and across languages. We can investigate it but I would also propose moving it into its own task.
