Phabricator is dead!

First, the bad news. Phabricator is no longer maintained since June 1, 2021.

Thanks Evan Priestley for all the fish! (edited: don't worry, the author is still alive)

We Phorge!

Of course Phabricator was Open Source! but the word "Phabricator" was a trademark. So, the community renamed the project, keeping the prefix "ph".

Please don't call "Phabricator" anymore :) Now we Phorge!

Phabricator consists in half a million lines of source code. The rebranding was concluded in ~9 months. Like a baby.

Wikimedia migrated to Phorge

Yes! We concluded the migration from Phabricator to Phorge! This happened just after Wikimania Singapore!

Thanks, Phorge community for all these incredible features! Some of them crafted during Wikimania Singapore

This seems to be about https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/phame/blog/view/14/ (context is generally welcome to avoid misunderstandings).
I'd probably concentrate more on what this means for Wikimedia users instead of eastereggs.

Aklapper removed a project: Internet-Archive.

I think the post is quite minimal enough to be published (?)

Indeed the goal is to reach this page that has a nice changelog with useful things.

As a reader, I'd prefer sufficient context and less tongue-in-cheek, e.g. no references to potential deaths or human reproduction. Also, a summary of major (!) changes relevant for Wikimedia users since the previous upgrade could be useful. And context what Phorge vs Phabricator means for Wikimedia Phabricator users as that is lacking. A list of all and any upstream changes in Singapore is irrelevant at this stage, as this post is about migrating to Phorge, and none of those upstream changes are yet available in the Wikimedia Phabricator instance.

Aklapper added a subscriber: brennen.

I drafted a rather boring (and high-level) blogpost at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/phame/post/view/307/from_phabricator_to_phorge/ which isn't public yet.

I'd love to link to a list of bigger and user-visible changes in Phorge since the fork but not sure how to gather that...

Heads-up to @brennen for an okay, as I used a screenshot of scap (which I hope is fine?).

Congrats on the migration, very happy to see this completed.

Can I at least see the blog post?

Sure sure, here's the very simple draft, sorry!
